Web Big Stakes Poker- Who is Gus Hansen?

[ English ]

Gus Hansen experienced a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only one to achieve closing poker table in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may remember one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. Gus secured a large pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has earned many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the best players anywhere in the world. While betting on online poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. He often competes in the 200/400 NL max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus more often than not buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then goes all in. I accept that Hansen is an outstanding poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400NL. Unless Gus is bankrupt, he has absolutely no reason to play at the game with the min buy-in.

Buying in for the minimum takes almost all of the skill out of big stack poker. Gus is presumed to be 1 of the greatest players in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total amt.. I think television can alter our perception of the real world at times. The greatest players anywhere in the world might be players you have won’t have heard about. Gus can be found participating in internet poker on Full Tilt. He generally competes in high stakes omaha eight-or-better and hold’em. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he use his talents in money games?
