Internet Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
Gus Hansen experienced an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only gambler to achieve last game in 3 of the events. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might remember one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a large pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the best players around the world. While playing internet poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. He often participates in the 200/400 NL max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen generally buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then goes all-in. I know Gus is an outstanding poker player but certainly not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is bankrupt, he has no reason to settle at the table with the min buy-in.
Playing for the minimum takes a majority of the skill out of deep stack poker. Hansen is accepted to be 1 of the best players in the world but he cannot buy in for the total dollar value. I think tv can alter our perception of the real world at times. The best players anywhere in the world could be guys you have will not have heard of. Gus can be seen participating in net poker on Full Tilt. He generally competes in big stakes omaha eight-or-better and Holdem. Gus has shown himself as a competition player. Can he use his abilities in cash rounds?
