Poker is a dominant game that has a fan base of countless of active supporters throughout the globe. The game involves gamblers evaluating their personal cards prior to attempting to determine what cards the competing players have. The various versions of poker games are Texas Holdem, Seven Card Stud, Omaha Poker, the Hi/Lo variation, Five Card Stud, and Five Card Draw. The term ‘aces up’ refers to a pair of aces and an additional pair. ‘Active player’ usually means a player who is still absolutely taking part in a hand. ‘All blue and all Pink’ alludes to a gambler has a hand made up of all spades, diamonds, hearts, or clubs. ‘Blank card’ means that the card has little or no importance in the hand. The term, ‘deal’ references the act of giving out cards to players or maintaining the cards on the boards. This term corresponds to the complete process from breaking the deck to giving out the cards and until the pot has been won, thus ending that deal.
Other general terms used in the game of poker include discard, drawing dead, flop, Fourth Street, kicker, lock up, loose game, and muck.
