Net High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
Gus Hansen had a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only player to achieve last table in three of the events. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might remember one of the largest pots in big stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. He secured a large pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Gus has earned many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest gamblers anywhere in the world. While betting on internet poker, another side of Hansen has emerged. He frequently participates in the 200/400 No Limit max buy in of $40, 000. Gus usually buys-in for the min of $16, 000 and gambles very poorly. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then pushes all in. I know Gus is a great poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is broke, he has little or no reason to sit at the table with the min buy in.
Buying in for the min takes almost all of the skill out of deep stack poker. Gus is presumed to be one of the greatest poker players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy-in for the full amt.. I think television can alter our view of the real world every now and then. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world could be guys you have will not have heard about. Gus can be seen betting on web poker on Full Tilt. He usually competes in big stakes omaha/8 and texas hold’em. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his talents in money rounds?
